About the Project
The Project is a community development charity based in the Hangleton and Knoll ward of Brighton and Hove. A part of the community since 1983, the Project works for the community with the community and is managed by the community.
The Hangleton and Knoll Project exists to work in partnerships with residents to access and develop opportunities and resources and to facilitate positive change as identified by the residents of the communities
Community Development Workers
Community Development Workers support local residents to come together, develop the skills knowledge and experience necessary to take collective action, and make positive change in response to issues identified by the community
They are a great point of contact for anybody new to the area or wishing to get more involved in local community activities.
The Community Development Workers currently support new and existing groups to work towards building independence and support with bringing residents who have common interests together. By using their knowledge of city-wide community activities they are able to link groups and organisations into wider networks and provide opportunities for residents to develop skills.
The Hangleton and Knoll Project and The Trust for Developing Communities work in partnership to provide targeted psychosocial support for individuals and groups from ethnically diverse backgrounds as part of the UOK Brighton & Hove partnership.
